UX Developer (Contract)

Lincoln Loop is seeking a part-time, remote UX Developer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position has a minimum commitment of 2 months, 3 days/week, with flexible working hours. This position pays $75-100/hour, depending on experience. We are cautiously growing and looking to expand our UX team to take on new challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our design team and key stakeholders to translate designs into semantic, accessible, clean HTML/CSS.
  • Integrate designs with frameworks using templating languages, such as Jinja2, Nunjucks, JSX, and Liquid.
  • Build reusable components and patterns as part of a design system. Document those patterns in Storybook or lower-fidelity tools.
  • Utilizing modern CSS and CSS frameworks to accelerate development and build maintainable systems.
  • Work closely with the design team to identify and resolve UX problems, suggesting improvements to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and insights on project progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX development with a portfolio or project links demonstrating expertise in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, web accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Working knowledge of design tools, such as Figma or Penpot.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects with changing priorities.
  • Previous agency or consultancy experience.

Our ideal candidate

  • You have 4+ hours of overlap with the US Eastern timezone.
  • You’ve contributed to a design system.
  • You have a keen eye for detail.
  • You’ve built front-ends for single-page applications and traditional websites.
  • You previously worked in an agency or were a consultant in multiple places.
  • You’ve integrated front-end code with a back-end framework like Django, Ruby on Rails, or Lavarel.
